This is a one minute sample of a VooDoo chant "Poto" recorded on an old reel-to-reel tape recorder by famed ethnologist and underground filmmaker Maya Deren. The recording was made in Hati in 1947. In addition to these priceless sound recordings, 20,000 feet of 16mm footage was shot in Haiti in 1947, 1949 and 1954 by Maya. Can it also be in a vault somewhere?
